Germany – Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Baden-Württemberg has tested its battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros Long Haul two-axle tractor unit (in combination with a three-axle trailer from Fleigl) over a distance of 3,000km from the Arctic Circle to Stuttgart in order to test and display its endurance under a raft of various climactic conditions to drive up interest before the vehicle goes into series production in September 2023.

Before this journey, the vehicle went through a series of tests in -25 degrees Celsius winter conditions in Rovaniemi, Finland, to assess the starting properties and protection of the drive components, software and interfaces from low temperatures.
