USANew Flyer of America Inc, a subsidiary of the NFI Group based in Crookston, Minnesota, has received an order for 116 “clean” diesel buses from the New York City Transit Authority (NYCT), part of the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) which serves the city.

New Flyer will supply 116 40-foot vehicles from the ‘Xcelsior’ range of city buses. The order was made through an option agreed between NYCT and New Flyer as part of a wider framework agreement. These diesel buses reportedly feature the latest EPA-compliant engine technology, reducing NOx emissions by up to 95%.
