Colombia - In the first quarter of this year, the Colombian CV market recorded sales of 9,421 units, corresponding to an increase of 9.7% (931 units) above the 8,590 vehicles sold in the same period of 2022. Of this total, 8,677 units were trucks and 744 buses, according to Andemos (National Association for Sustainable Mobility) in Bogotá. Sales of trucks, the association said, increased again compared with the previous year reflecting an extremely positive year in terms of fleet renewal; the bus segment, however, shrank by 13.3%.

Truck sales in the light and medium duty segment (up to 10.5 tons gvw) totalled 6,723 units, some 10.4% higher than the 6,089 units sold in the same quarter of 2022. In this truck segment the market leader was the Chevrolet brand, with 1,446 units, 13.1% above the 1,278 in the same period of 2022, followed by Foton, with 1,048 vehicles, and by Renault, with 885 units.
