GermanyMAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Munich, Bavaria, has announced a series of expanded features – primarily concerned with advanced driver assistance – which are now available with its new truck models.

Some of the new options address safety issues which all new vehicles will need to account for when new EU regulations come into effect in July 2024.1 MAN’s new ‘FrontDetection’ safety system can detect whether pedestrians or cyclists are in the blind spot at the very front of the vehicle in starting situations and at speeds of up to 10 km/h. Additionally, MAN’s Emergency Brake Assist is expanded to initiate the emergency brake if a vulnerable road user is detected in this blind spot.
