USA – Ohio-based power management firm, Eaton Corporation has partnered with automotive components supplier, Tenneco Inc, based in Lake Forest, Illinois, to produce jointly an integrated exhaust thermal management system that will enable OEMs to meet upcoming emissions regulations. In order to achieve this, the companies will combine Tenneco’s Cold Start Thermal Unit (CSTU) and Eaton’s Twin Vortices Series (TVS) blower which allows the airflow to be controlled to maintain the CTSU’s optimal temperature, creating less CO2 emissions. The exhaust thermal management system will provide heat directly to the vehicle’s aftertreatment system, which is essential for reducing harmful exhaust emissions. Business activities will take place at Tenneco’s technical centre in Edenkoben, Germany, and Eaton's technical centre in Marshall, Michigan.
