Italy – April saw Iveco Bus (a brand of the Iveco Group NV), a commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Turin inaugurate its new EUR 40 million Foggia plant in Southern Italy, bringing its bus production back to Italy. With over 100 staff, the plant has a production capacity of 1,000 vehicles per year, including hydrogen fuel cell and battery-electric buses, with alternative propulsion systems produced in Turin. These vehicles will be destined for the European market and also shipped through the Mediterranean Sea to reach destinations in the Middle East. Research, development, and manufacture of batteries and low-emission engines will be the responsibility of FPT Industrial.
