Aurora opens Dallas terminal for autonomous trucks

Aurora Dallas terminal

USA – Start-up software company, Aurora Innovations Inc of Mountain View, California, United States, has launched a terminal for its autonomous trucks in Palmer, South Dallas, Texas. The terminal deploys autonomous trucks transporting freight from Dallas to Houston (and vice versa) for its pilot customers which include FedEx and Uber freight. This is a part of the company’s plan as it prepares for the commercial launch of Aurora Horizon, its autonomous trucking service which is set to go live next year using its autonomous driving (Aurora Driver) software.

The terminal includes all the technical capabilities to optimally run these fleets including refuelling and weigh stations, on-site maintenance resources to maximise fleet uptime and a data centre.
