USA – On 15 May, Watt EV Inc of Long Beach, California opened a charging station accommodating up to 26 heavy trucks at the Port of Long Beach – the first of four which it is building in southern California as part of its Truck-as-a-service business model.

At the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, held between 1-4 May 2023, Watt EV claimed the Port of Long Beach station is the largest of its kind to be available for public use. The chargers at the station provide up to 360 kW of power. In the future, Watt EV plans to expand with four more truck charging bays, which will feature 1.2MW chargers.
