Quantum Fuel Systems launches new hydrogen storage tanks at ACT Expo

Type 4 hydrogen tank by Quantum Fuel Systems

USA – At the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, held between 1-4 May 2023, Quantum Fuel Systems LLC of Lake Forest, California launched a new generation of hydrogen storage systems for fuelling heavy trucks.

Quantum Fuel Systems’ hydrogen tanks are made from “Type 4” composite materials with a polymer lining. They store hydrogen at a pressure of 70 MPa, or 700 bar. Customers have the choice of placing them at the back of the truck cab or mounting them along the frame rail. Depending on the configuration, the tanks can collectively hold between 54 and 80 kg of hydrogen fuel.
