DHL Freight tests Mercedes-Benz eActros tractor in Germany

DHL testing the eActros

Germany – Global logistics company DHL Freight, has been testing the new Mercedes-Benz (Daimler Truck AG) eActros 300 tractor over several days in Germany. The battery-electric truck transported an average of 12 tonnes of freight from the DHL Terminal in Hagen near Dortmund to the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kassel, 175km away without having to stop for charging. Covering an average distance of 350 km per day, the batteries were charged at a truck charging station on the Mercedes-Benz premises in Kassel. The week-long test has been in line with DHL Group’s sustainability goal of net-zero emissions logistics from 2050 onwards, as the company ramps up the decarbonisation of its fleet.
