New Flyer receives contracts for up to 346 low and no emission buses for Phoenix

Fuel cell electric and hybrid buses by New Flyer

USANew Flyer of America Inc, a subsidiary of the NFI Group based in Crookston, Minnesota, has announced two contracts for a total of 346 low- and zero-emission buses awarded by the Phoenix Public Transit Department (“PTD”), which serves the city of Phoenix in Arizona. 

The two five-year contracts stipulate firm orders for six ‘Xcelsior Charge FC’ fuel cell electric buses and twenty ‘Xcelsior Hybrid’ buses. They provide further options for up to 320 buses, half of which would be fuel cell electric and half of them hybrid electric. All buses, including options, are 40 feet in length.
