Masats presents new ramp and door for buses at UITP

Spain – At the UITP1 Global Public Transport Summit in Barcelona, Spain, held between 4-7 June, Masats SA, a subsidiary of Irizar also based in Barcelona, two new products for buses – an electric ramp and a sliding door.
The ‘RE2’ electric ramp allows for wheelchair access on a 930 x 850 mm platform. It weighs 48 kg but can accommodate weights up to 350 kg. The ramp can be operated manually or automatically. With automatic operation, a sensor will detect the presence of any obstruction (i.e., a human foot) and immediately arrest the ramp, thus avoiding accidental injury.
