Sunsundegui licensed to build Volvo 9700 and 9900 coaches for European market

Sweden / Spain – In May, Volvo Bus Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden signed a Letter of Intent with coachbuilder Sunsundegui SA of Alsasua, Spain, agreeing to a partnership whereby Sunsundegui will build coach bodies on Volvo chassis for the European market.
Starting next year, Sunsundegui will be licensed to produce the Volvo ‘9700’ and ‘9900’ coach models, based on a new chassis which Volvo Buses introduced last year. The Spanish coachbuilder will be supplied by the Borås and Uddevalla chassis plants in Sweden. The partners expect the first customer models to hit the market in 2025.
