Hyundai's Elec City hydrogen fuel cell bus

South Korea - Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) plans to convert local public transport buses operating in South Korea’s capital city Seoul to hydrogen power over the next three years, as part of a broader plan to transition the city’s bus fleet to zero-emissions.

South Korea’s leading automaker, headquartered in Seoul, earlier this month signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the South Korean Ministry of Environment, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, SK E&S and Tmap Mobility, with the aim of converting more than 1,300 public transportation vehicles, including airport, city and commuter buses, to hydrogen fuel cell power by 2026.
