Plus selects Luminar as exclusive supplier of lidar systems

USA – Plus, a tech firm based in Santa Clara, California, has announced that it has selected Luminar Technologies Inc of Orlando, Florida to supply lidar systems for its semi-autonomous driving technology for commercial vehicles.
‘PlusDrive’, a “L2++” autonomous driving system, supports the driver by automatically handling lane changes, lane merges, and lane centring. It uses a range of different vehicle perception technologies, including cameras and radar. PlusDrive-equipped trucks will also employ mid- to long-range lidar from Luminar on an exclusive supplier basis. In turn, Plus will act as exclusive third-party supplier of AI-powered driver assistance software to Luminar’s OEM customers.
