Regional sales of CVs in East Asia dip 2.1% in Q1/2023

East Asia - Sales of commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw in East Asia’s seven main markets, excluding China, fell by over 2% year-on-year to 372,543 units in the first quarter of 2023 after growing just 1.6% to 364,641 units in the fourth quarter of last year, according to data compiled from numerous industry sources including industry associations and vehicle manufacturers.
The moderate decline came despite some strong tailwinds playing out across the region in the first quarter, with manufacturers still enjoying strong pent-up demand in some markets after last year’s shortages of semiconductors.
