New Flyer receives 100-unit battery electric order for Miami

USANew Flyer of America Inc, a subsidiary of the NFI Group based in Crookston, Minnesota, has received a firm order for 100 battery electric buses from public transport authority Miami-Dade Transit in Florida. 

The 60-foot ‘Xcelsior Charge NG’ buses will serve two different applications in Miami-Dade County. Sixty vehicles will operate on the ‘South Dade TransitWay’ bus rapid transit corridor, a 20-mile route connecting municipalities between Dadeland South Metrorail Station and Florida City. These buses are specified with four doors. The other forty will serve on various bus routes across the county.
