New Mercedes-Benz do Brasil O 500 intercity coach chassis models now available for export markets in Latin America

Brazil – Mercedes-Benz do Brasil Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil has new intercity bus chassis for export countries in the Andean region and other markets in Latin America.
Available now are the new more powerful and robust O 500 RSD 2448 478hp 6x2 and O 500 RS 1945 448hp 4x2 chassis for commuter, long distance and charter operations. The coaches feature Mercedes-Benz OM460 6-cylinder 12.9-litre engines complying with Euro V emissions standards. (These chassis are different to the chassis being offered in Brazil – the new O 500 RSD 2445 chassis, which has the MB OM 460 LA (449hp (330 kW) at 1,600 rev/min engine and max. torque: 2,200Nm at 1,100 rev/min) complies with the Proconve Phase P8 (Euro VI) emissions standard). The new O500 coach chassis are fitted with a 12-speed ZF Traxon automated transmission, with Over Drive and Direct Drive and with options for an Intarder or Retarder auxiliary brake system. The transmission is also equipped with EcoMode (greater efficiency in fuel consumption), EcoRoll (uses the vehicle's inertia to save fuel), PowerMode (gear changes at higher speeds that ensure greater agility on climbs and overtaking) and Holder ( ramp start assist system).
