Forsee Power launches new heavy-duty electric vehicle battery

FLEX PLUS Battery

FranceForsee Power SAS* of Paris, France, has launched a new heavy-duty electric truck battery (FLEX PLUS battery pack) comprised of NMC lithium-ion cells. The system is available in two options, 52 kWh and 56 kWh, which can support both 650V and 800V motorisation. FLEX PLUS can be charged and discharged with a continuous current of 160A at 2 degrees Celsius and is suitable for peak charge and discharge of 400A at 5 degrees Celsius. The battery offers a lifetime of 8,000 cycles and after that, the batteries can then be used in stationary energy storage systems for several more years. The new FLEX PLUS battery pack completes the PLUS format product family, already including ZEN PLUS, a high-energy battery system range launched in 2022.

*For all systems Forsee Power does not manufacture battery cells itself but assembles purchased cells into battery systems – primarily for use in e-buses and other electric commercial vehicles, but also for maritime applications. One of the cell suppliers is LG Energy Solution; this agreement was extended at the beginning of 2022. In addition, cooperation with the Chinese cell producer, CALB was announced in early 2023. Under the agreement, Forsee Power will integrate CALB’s NMC cells with very high energy density into its battery systems for electric commercial vehicles. The French Paris-based company currently has production sites in France, Poland, China, India and soon in the USA.
