Sales of bus chassis increase by 54.9% in 2023

Brazil - Sales of bus chassis grew by 54.9% in the first half of 2023 to 11,322 (7,309) despite the introduction of new PROCONVE P8 (Euro 6) emissions standards on January 1, 2023. The change in emissions legislation and the introduction of the new emissions standard did not impact sales because transport operators purchased Euro V units still in stock and which could be sold up until the end of March. Pent up replacement demand post-Covid in both the urban and long-distance coach segment was also a contributary factor for growth.

The expectation is, however, that the change in the emissions legislation will reflect sales at the beginning of the second half, but even so, the perspective is for production and sales between 5 and 10% above those registered in 2022.
