Brazil – Truck production in Brazil fell by more than a third (34.3%) to 47,173 units in the first half of 2023, against 71,772 in the same period of 2022. The drop in demand for trucks was mainly due to the change in emissions legislation but also due to shortage of components.

Production of bus and coach chassis of 9,539 units was also down on last years’ first half registrations by 28.4% of 13,331 units in 2022. Both passenger transport segments fell significantly; the city bus market falling by almost 31%.
