Schmitz and Rio agree to data-sharing for truck-trailer fleets

Germany – Schmitz Cargobull AG of Horstmar, North Rhine-Westphalia has announced a data-sharing agreement with the Traton Group’s ‘Rio’ brand, allowing customers to access information on their trucks and trailers in one place.

Traton brands will be enabled to import trailer data to the Rio portal, and truck data will also be imported to Schmitz’s ‘TrailerConnect’ platform. This means that customers operating a Traton (i.e., MAN or Scania) truck and Schmitz trailer combination will be able to access their truck-trailer fleet data on one of the two platforms.
