NetherlandsZepp Solutions BV of Delft, Netherlands has been awarded a EUR1.98m grant from the European Union to support the construction of a fuel cell production facility near Rotterdam.

The planned factory will be built in the Rijnmond region of the Netherlands before 2026 and will allow the Dutch startup to scale up production of its fuel cell systems to 1,000 units annually. The company has designed two fuel cell products: the ‘Y50’ (for smaller marine applications and terminal tractors) and the ‘X150’ (for heavy duty applications). Both will be produced at the new factory, where approximately 100 new jobs will be created.
