CATL Europe appoints new Chief Commercial Officer

Markus Baum to be CATL Chief Commercial Officer Europe
Germany / China – The European arm of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd (CATL), based in Ningde, Fujian, has appointed Markus Baum as CATL Europe’s Chief Commercial Officer in a role recently created. Beginning his new role on November 1, 2023, signals the Chinese company’s ambition to grow throughout Europe, by consolidating European sales on a local level. It is worth noting that CATL began production of battery cells in Germany earlier this year at its factory in Arnstadt, Thuringia. The initial capacity of the factory is 8 GWh per year.
Baum’s responsibilities include integrating, structuring and developing CATL’s commercial operations in Europe. Baum joins from fastener manufacturer, Bulten, where he was also CCO and credited with restructuring the company's global sales system.
