Scania rolls out battery-powered trucks in RHD markets of SE Asia

Singapore’s first battery-powered Scania refuse truck

Malaysia / Singapore / Hong Kong / Sweden – Scania AB of Sodertalje, Sweden has rolled out its range of battery-powered heavy-duty trucks in markets across South-east Asia over the last few months, as the Swedish-based company looked to establish an early presence in the region’s zero-emission commercial vehicle market.

Chinese automakers are also targeting this segment, with an expanding range of battery-powered trucks coming into the region’s markets from brands such as Foton and Dongfeng, which are aimed mainly at the local delivery segment market.
