Vicinity Motor to partner with Adastec on autonomous buses

Canada / USAVicinity Motor Corp, a commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Aldergrove, British Columbia, Canada, has entered into a partnership with tech firm Adastec Corporation of Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA to develop an autonomous bus for the North American market. 

The two companies have announced plans to integrate Adastec’s ‘Flowride.ai’ technology with the ‘Vicinity Lightning’ battery electric bus, giving it autonomy up to Level 4 (i.e., full autonomy in a geofenced area).
