Renault Trucks D retrofitted with battery electric driveline

FranceRenault Trucks SAS, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Saint-Priest, France, has announced its first successful conversion of a diesel truck to battery electric power, as part of a government-funded retrofit project.

The company took a used 12-tonne ‘Renault Trucks D’ and removed its engine, gearbox, fuel and AdBlue tanks, hydraulic pump, and compressors for air conditioning, suspension and braking.
