Renault Trucks revamps D range and adds GSR-compliant safety features

Renault Trucks E-Tech D and D Wide

FranceRenault Trucks SAS, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Saint-Priest, France, has unveiled a facelifted range of urban distribution trucks, which will be installed with advanced driver assistance systems to ensure compliance with upcoming EU safety regulations (GSR).

New trucks in the ‘D’ range – the D, D Wide, and D Wide LEC – now feature exterior stylings which Renault Trucks’ designers say are intended to create a visual link between its heavy-duty ‘C’ and ‘T’ trucks and its van range (based on the Renault ‘Master’ and ‘Trafic’). Changes include a redesigned upper grille, expanded space on the radiator grille for customisation, and inclusion of the company’s new logo (a flat line drawing based on the Renault diamond). The LED headlights are C-shaped, a design “borrowed from the car industry”. On the battery electric versions, the cab front is decorated with ‘E-Tech’ graphics.
