ZF licenses Oceaneering to produce and distribute its shuttle bus design (GRT) for use on segregated lanes starting in the USA

USA / Germany – At APTA Expo 2023, Germany’s ZF Friedrichshafen AG announced it is to expand its relationship with Oceaneering International Inc of Houston, Texas to develop autonomous shuttle buses in segregated lanes for different applications in the North America market. ZF, which has worked previously on guided shuttle buses over many years* is to licence Oceaneering to produce and distribute its Group Rapid Transport Gen 3 (GRT**) passenger shuttle bus for use on segregated lanes, starting in the USA. As part of the partnership agreement, ZF is to provide development services, autonomous driving (AD software) and expertise for higher level AD.

ZF said the agreement aimed to deliver a four-digit number (meaning from 1,000 up to 9,999 units) of ZF‘s Group Rapid Transport shuttles to customers in the coming years.
