Truck production falls 38.5% from January to September

Brazil – Brazilian truck production fell by 38.5% in the first nine months of 2023 to 71,765 trucks compared with 116,675 units in the same period of the previous year, according to data from the São Paulo-based ANFAVEA.

According to ANFAVEA, the change in Proconve emissions standards – introduction of the equivalent of Euro VI emissions standards - and the difficulty of penetrating the market with this cleaner technology due to higher costs associated with it, was the primary reasons for the steep fall in demand.
