Brazil – Truck sales fell by 15.2% in the first nine months of 2023 to 79,003 units compared with 93,162 units in the same period in 2022. According to São Paulo-based ANFAVEA, the contraction reflects the drop in demand due to the introduction of stricter emissions standards - PROCONVE P8 (Euro 6) legislation – introduced at the start of the year.

All truck segments recorded a fall in demand, except for semi-light truck segment, which grew by 24.1% totalling 6,638 units in the first nine months compared with 5,348 units in the same period of the previous year. The one that showed the smallest drop was the heavy-duty segment, falling by 17.6% to 38,491 compared with 46,712 units in the same period previously.
