USA – Last month, FCA US LLC (“Stellantis North America”), the parent of brands including ‘Chrysler’, ‘Dodge’, ‘Jeep’, and ‘Ram’ based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, has announced that new vehicles sold to its commercial fleet customers will now be fitted with driver monitoring systems designed by Nauto Inc of Palo Alto, California.

Using a camera and visual analysis powered by artificial intelligence, Nauto’s technology can detect drowsiness or inattention in drivers and alert them. In addition, drivers can use Nauto’s product to self-coach and improve their driving behaviour, helping them to recognise when they are drowsy or distracted. Moreover, external cameras and sensors alert drivers to collision risks with other road users.
