Light truck sales in India on downward curve

India - Sales of LCV goods carrier vehicles (trucks) gvw ≤ 7.5t slid by 4.6% to 265,825 units in first half of FY 2023-24 from 278,679 units in same period of FY 2022-23, according to RACE Innovations on figures supplied by SIAM Production of LCV goods carriers decreased by 3.5% to 303,959 units, when compared with the same period last fiscal year, while exports slid by 25.1%.

The mini-truck segment, GVW ≤ 2t, saw sales decline by 15.2% to 84,297 units in first half of FY2023-24 from 99,397 units in first half of FY2022-23. Production also decreased, by 16.3% to 91,008, while export sales fell by 20.1% to 3,337 (4,177).
