South Korea - Autonomous driving technology startup, Mars Auto has agreed to collaborate with SK Telecom Company (part of SK Inc) to develop advanced self-driving technologies for heavy-duty trucks using artificial intelligence (AI).

Mars Auto and SK Telekom signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) this month to collaborate in collecting driving data and co-develop autonomous driving technologies. SK Telecom has agreed to provide its 5G mobile communications, AI and others expertise, while Mars Auto also has AI capabilities and will apply these technologies to develop an operating system to fully automate long-haul trucking. The two companies plan to collaborate initially on middle-mile cargo transportation (logistics movement between companies).
