Italy / Netherlands – Last month, Dutch electric bus manufacturer, Ebusco Holding NV, based in Deurne, announced they are set to supply Italian central purchasing organisation Consip*, with its low-floor suburban Ebusco 2.2 12-metre electric buses, marking a milestone first order in the Italian market. In 2024, operators will be able to order these buses with a battery pack of more than 400 kWh through Consip. This is expected to yield the delivery of over 250 Ebusco 2.2 buses over the course of the next three years.

Peter Bijvelds, CEO of Ebusco said: “We are proud and honoured to be selected by Consip and it is clearly a next step to expand our footprint in Europe. With the Ebusco 2.2, we continue to have a modern electric bus with excellent energy consumption performance leading to a competitive Total Cost of Ownership. We are happy to see that we have now taken a first step in Italy and look forward to working with the Italian authorities to reduce the carbon footprint through the deployment of zero-emission public transport.”
