Germany / Netherlands – In November, Quantron AG, a retrofit firm based in Gersthofen, Bavaria, announced the formation of a joint venture with Oilinvest Group BV of The Hague, Netherlands to build a hydrogen refuelling network in Europe.

The joint venture, based in Hamburg, is named ‘Hemtron’, a portmanteau of ‘Quantron’ and ‘HEM’, one of Oilinvest’s brands (the other is ‘Tamoil’). Starting in Germany, Hemtron will build a hydrogen fuel network on new greenfield sites and at third-party stations, concentrating on locations near logistics centres and motorways.
