FranceRenault Trucks SAS, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Saint-Priest, France, has announced plans to erect solar canopies at its vehicle plant in Bourg-en-Bresse in order to supply 30% of its energy needs from solar.

The company’s proposed solar canopy project will have a total peak output of 22 MW, covering a total area of over 17 hectares. This will make it one of the largest such projects in France, producing enough energy to supply the average consumption of 17,500 people.
