Sales of trucks and buses in Argentina hold up in 2023 despite high inflation

Argentina - Annual sales of trucks  and buses in Argentina of 6t gvw and above held up remarkably well in 2023 to register 14,163 vehicles as compared with 14,668, a decline of just 3.4%, according to figures supplied by  ACARA, Association of Automotive Dealers of the Republic of Argentina. This was despite the annual inflation rate ending 2023 at 211.4%, according to Reuters, which the agency said was the highest since the early 1990s.

Iveco, however, became the market leader in commercial vehicle sales during the year, with its registrations up by 11.6% at 5,364 units (4,806), taking over from Mercedes-Benz for the first time.
