Quantron agrees fuel supply deal with Bavarian waste-to-hydrogen firm

GermanyQuantron AG, a retrofit firm based in Gersthofen, Bavaria, has announced an agreement with Blueflux Energy AG of Peißenberg to supply hydrogen generated from waste.

Founded in 2020, Blueflux Energy has developed a method of converting waste into various forms of synthetic fuels using hydrolysis (i.e., using water to break chemical bonds). With inputs such as organic residues from farmland, municipal waste, and industry, Blueflux Energy claims it can produce green hydrogen – together with synthesis gas, peat substitutes, and biogas – through a process which takes two hours.
