USAPlus of Santa Clara, California has launched an open software platform based on its proprietary autonomous driving technology which is geared towards OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers who are looking to develop their own advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving systems.

The ‘Open Platform for Autonomy’ (OPA) is a modular software platform intended to support would-be developers of semi- and fully-autonomous vehicles and subsystems. It is comprised of off-board modules for integrating sensors (cameras, lidar, etc) and actuation systems (i.e., brakes, engines, steering), functional modules for autonomous driving, and integration modules for adapting the software to the vehicle itself.
