Hyzon appoints new CTO, Dr Christian Mohrdieck

USA – Hyzon Motors Inc, a manufacturer of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles based in Rochester, New York, has appointed Dr Christian Mohrdieck as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective immediately. This came after the planned retirement of former CTO Shinichi Hirano. Hyzon stated that Mohrdieck will oversee all product commercialisation, specifically focusing on the start of production of its single-stack 200kW Fuel Cell System (FCS), scaling up manufacturing and advancing the company’s R&D operations.
Mohrdieck has many years of experience working across various automotive sectors having previously served as CEO of Mercedes-Benz Fuel Cell GmbH, and most recently, was Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of cellcentric GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture between Daimler Truck AG and the Volvo Group AB that specialises in heavy-duty fuel cell systems for the transportation sector.
