Mixed LCV truck segment performance leaves sales 2.9% lower at the nine month mark of FY 2023-24

India - Sales of LCV goods carrier (trucks) vehicles, gvw ≤ 7.5t, fell marginally during the first nine months (April to December) of fiscal year (FY) 2023-24 by 2.9% to 399,988 units from 412,019 units in same period of 2022-23. Production of LCV trucks decreased also and by 2.3% to 440,482 units (451,000), while exports fell by more than 7,000 units (-17.3%).

Sales in the GVW ≤ 2t segment fell by 11.8% to 127,693 units from 144,761 units, while production decreased by 9.9% to 134,088 (148,796) and exports totalled 4,703 vehicles, down by 12.2%.
