Finland – Finnish electric charging provider, Kempower OYJ, based in Lahti, Finland, has announced that it has won a grant for EUR 10 million from Business Finland, a state development agency, to develop a heavy-duty electric truck charging network across the country. The government funds are scheduled to be paid over five years, whilst an additional EUR 20 million has been allocated to finance future projects under the charging infrastructure development programme (Heavy Electric Traffic Ecosystem).

The programme is to also look at the impact of heavy-duty charging on power grids. Kempower is to lead the project, and states it is in the process of finding potential partners to lead research and development (R&D) into digital solutions, charging technologies, customer applications and future charging solutions.
