ADL Enviro400EV double-decker takes pole position in energy efficiency testing

Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV

UK – After launching its next-generation electric Enviro400EV double-decker electric bus late last year, Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) of Larbert, UK, has announced an impressive set of testing results conducted by UTAC engineers at the Millbrook Proving Ground, with an “average energy consumption of just 0.67kWh/km across the UK Bus Cycle*” and a “theoretical” operating range of 620km (385 miles) on a single charge.

This is the most efficient electric double-decker bus ever tested through the Zemo** partnership, ADL claims, helping boost performance and profitability for the operators. ADL has already sold more than 150 of these Enviro400EV’s to date, with customers including Transdev and Stagecoach.
