China-made commercial vehicles sales rise 22% in 2023 to more than 4 million

China - Sales of Chinese commercial vehicles, including exports, increased by 22% to 4,031,000 units in 2023 from 3,300,000 units in 2022, according to wholesale data collected by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

Global sales of trucks of all sizes and brands increased by over 22% to 3,539,000 units last year, including a 69% increase semi-trailer sales to 504,000 units. Sales of buses of all sizes increased by over 20% to 492,000 units. New energy commercial vehicles (NECVs), comprising mainly hydrogen, electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, increased by 32% to 447,000 units.
