ADL delivers first next-generation Enviro400EV to UK operator

UK – Earlier in March Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) of Larbert, UK, delivered its first next-generation electric Enviro400EV bus to Stagecoach in Oxfordshire. This is the first of 55 that will be delivered, entering service in the Oxford Smart Zone next month.
With a capacity for 83 passengers, the 11.1 metre Enviro400EV is equipped with a 410kW peak and 310kW continuous power electric motor supplied by Voith. The NMC lithium-ion battery (LFP) system is provided by Impact Clean Power Technology. These batteries (either 354 kWh or 472 kWh) are mounted on the chassis, providing a range of 313 kilometres (195 miles) or 418 kilometres (260 miles) on a single charge. The e-bus has a 96-passenger capacity, with up to 80 seats and has the optional capability of roof-mounted charging rails for pantograph charging. Besides increased visibility for the driver, a new TFT driver display makes the display more “car-like” than previous generations. ADL worked with Grayson Thermal Systems to design the climate control system.
