ABB invests in U.S. robotics facility expansion

AAB robotics facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan

USA / Switzerland – After a USD 20 million expansion investment, ABB Ltd of Zürich, Switzerland, has opened its doors to its newly refitted U.S. robotics facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan, serving the North American EV OEM market. The factory develops manufacturing AI-enabled robotics and automation technology to help OEMs manufacture products more efficiently, whilst combating labour shortages. The expansion was partly funded, by a USD 450,000 thousand grant from the Michigan Business Development programme. Furthermore, to entice potential clients, ABB has built a “customer experience centre” on-site, to showcase its hardware and software solutions.
