Stoneridge MirrorEye to appear on new Volvo trucks

Volvo heavy-duty range with MirrorEye installed

Sweden / USA – New heavy-duty trucks from Volvo Trucks Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden are set to launch over the next couple of years with ‘MirrorEye’, a camera-based replacement of traditional wing mirrors developed by Stoneridge Inc of Novi, Michigan, USA.

The new ‘Volvo FH Aero’, announced earlier this year, will launch in EMEA and Asia-Pacific markets over the next two years with Stoneridge’s mirror-camera system installed. Stoneridge says that the replacement of traditional wing mirrors will improve the aerodynamics of the truck, contributing to reductions in fuel consumption and emissions (or energy consumption in the battery electric version).
