MAN to produce 200 H2 ICE trucks beginning in 2025

MAN hTGX truck

GermanyMAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Munich, Bavaria, has announced that it will commence production of a range of heavy trucks powered by hydrogen combustion on a small series scale from next year.

Based on the heavy-duty ‘TGX’ range, the ‘hTGX’ will be aimed at customers looking to decarbonise their operations in demanding applications such as construction, logging, and tanker transport. It will offer a much higher payload than a battery electric equivalent and a range of up to 600 kilometres. The hTGX will be offered in 6x2 and 6x4 configurations initially, but MAN says that special axle options will be offered later – options which would be unfeasible with multiple onboard batteries installed on the vehicle frame.
