Peterbilt and Kenworth offer new Paccar transmissions for vocational applications

USAPeterbilt Motors Company of Denton, Texas and Kenworth Truck Company of Kirkland, Washington have announced new vocational applications for their medium- and heavy-duty trucks with the latest transmissions from parent company Paccar Inc of Bellevue, Washington.

First, Peterbilt announced that the new ‘TX-12 PRO’ automated transmission by Paccar is now available with the heavy-duty 567 and 579 truck models, allowing for high performance in vocational applications. It should be paired with an engine providing up to 1,700 lbs-ft of torque in order to work optimally in vehicles with a GCWR (gross combination weight rating) of up to 70,000 lbs.
